Compared to the '1st Generation' TrafiCam, the basic functionality remains the same: “a loop replacing sensor for vehicle presence detection at intersections”:
- Direct visual verification
Using video images, TrafiCam allows exact positioning and verification of the vehicle presence detection zones.
- Multiple & direction sensitive vehicle detection zones
TrafiCam detects vehicles, day and night, on up to eight zones. This allows you to distinct presence detection over different lanes. TrafiCam has direction-sensitive detection zones indicating presence of vehicles moving in a specific direction.
- Easy installation and fast configuration
TrafiCam is easy to install. You can simply mount it on the existing infrastructure. Via a portable computer with pre-installed Traficon software, you can set-up your sensor. A menu-driven set-up procedure allows you to add, modify or delete detection zones in an extreme user-friendly way. You can store different configurations of a TrafiCam and upgrade new firmware to the TrafiCam.

EXPLORING TRAFICAM - SECOND GENERATION:
As “easy to install” is absolutely required by the intersection market, serious improvements were made to ensure no time is wasted during installation. Flexible bracket for rotation and positioning, easy handling and less interconnection wires now make installation extremely easy. The current hardware interface also makes communication possible with all types of traffic controllers. Also configuration of the sensor is now easier and is done via USB connection. Via your portable PC, you can set-up this sensor in your native language through a user-friendly software interface. Finally, as an option, a wireless solution and a solar powered TrafiCam is available.
BRAINS AND GOOD LOOKS
The most eye-catching alteration is its looks. Serious efforts were made to make sure TrafiCam 2nd Generation not only performs well but also looks very nice. Although small, light and discrete, this new “sexy” design will fit perfectly on each traffic light.
